Summary:
The Self-Sufficiency Case Manager provides direct case management and advocacy for survivors of domestic violence, stalking, and trafficking, with a focus on promoting long-term safety, stability, and economic security. This role supports clients in developing self-sufficiency goals, connects them to community resources, and works collaboratively with partners and systems to reduce barriers to independence.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide trauma-informed case management to survivors in person, by phone, and in community settings.
- Conduct safety assessments and develop individualized safety plans with clients.
- Assist clients in navigating healthcare, legal, criminal justice, and social service systems.
- Support clients in addressing long-term housing instability, financial literacy, employment, and other barriers to self-sufficiency.
- Maintain an updated knowledge of and referral connections with community resources.
- Provide advocacy and self-sufficiency services at off-site locations as needed.
- Present information on WCA services to community groups and partner organizations.
- Collaborate with colleagues across WCA programs to provide coordinated support to clients.
- Maintain accurate client files and complete reports in a timely manner.
- Ensure all client interactions and records comply with confidentiality, HIPAA, and organizational standards.
- Attend regular WCA staff meetings and training.
- Complete new employee orientation and a minimum of 20 hours of continuing education annually.
- For bilingual case managers: Fluency in Spanish and English is required.
- Serve in the role of Advocate as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Education/Experience:
- Minimum of six (6) months to one (1) year of experience providing direct services to clients in a human services setting (volunteer or paid) is required.
- A Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Counseling, Criminal Justice, or related field is strongly preferred.
- Fluency in Spanish is preferred (required for bilingual position).

- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs, internet, and client database programs.
- Ability to operate standard office equipment.
- Reliable transportation to meet with clients and community partners.
- Commitment to confidentiality and adherence to HIPAA standards.
- Regular and predictable attendance is essential.
