If you are looking for a place where you can make a difference in the life of a child, Project Harmony is looking for you.  We are seeking an experienced and committed Director of Clinic Operations and Advocacy to join our dynamic and innovative organization.  This Director provides strategic and operational leadership for Project Harmony’s mental health clinic operations and family advocacy services. This position ensures the delivery of efficient, high-quality, and trauma-informed services that meet the needs of children and families impacted by abuse, trauma, and mental health challenges. This role directly oversees the Clinic Operations Manager and the Mental Health Family Advocate Program Manager, providing direction, guidance, and support to ensure cohesive operations across the department. 

 

The Director is responsible for maintaining regulatory compliance, optimizing client access to care, ensuring operational excellence, and advancing collaboration between clinical and advocacy teams. Working closely with the Vice President of Clinical Services, the Director of Clinical Services, and other Project Harmony leaders, this role contributes to departmental strategy, resource management, and system improvement to ensure that services are family-centered, equitable, and sustainable.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic and operational leadership for Clinic Operations and Mental Health Family Advocacy teams
  • Ensure effective coordination between intake, scheduling, billing, and advocacy services to promote seamless client experience
  • Maintain program compliance with HIPAA, state behavioral health regulations, Project Harmony’s internal quality standards and NCA accreditation
  • Collaborate with the VP of Clinical Services and the Director of Clinical Services to integrate administrative needs of the clinic and to maximize mental health outcomes for clients and families
  • Contribute to departmental planning, budget management, and continuous quality improvement initiatives
  • Oversee operational systems that enhance access to care, streamline referrals, and ensure efficient client flow
  • Collaborate with finance and billing teams to monitor revenue, contracts, and fiscal accountability
  • Monitor and analyze service delivery data to identify trends, outcomes, and opportunities for improvement
  • Lead the development of process improvements that promote efficiency and reduce barriers for families
  • Ensure documentation, data management, and reporting meet organizational and accreditation standards
  • Partner with internal teams to implement quality improvement (CQI) and trauma-informed system design for clients being served
  • Provide coaching, mentoring, and performance management for direct reports
  • Foster a positive, collaborative, and inclusive team culture rooted in trauma-informed principles
  • Oversee staff training and professional development, ensuring continuous skill enhancement and compliance with best practices
  • Build and maintain strong partnerships with community agencies, providers, and systems partners to improve coordination and access to care
  • Represent Project Harmony in multidisciplinary teams, community coalitions, and external meetings related to behavioral health and family advocacy
  • Participate in community engagement initiatives to raise awareness of Project Harmony’s clinical and advocacy services
  • Evaluate current operations and identify opportunities to enhance service models, expand access, and strengthen integration across Project Harmony
  • Support development of grants, partnerships, and sustainability plans for program growth
  • Ensure culturally competent services are provided to all families we serve without regard to race, ethnicity, religion, socioeconomic status, disability, gender or sexual orientation

Requirements

Qualifications 

 

Education 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, Public Administration, Healthcare Management required, or related field 
  • Master’s degree preferred in Social Work, Public Administration, Counseling, or Healthcare Administration

 

Experience and Training  

  • Experience in trauma-informed practice, child welfare, or mental health program development strongly preferred
  • 5+ years of progressive senior leadership experience in non-profit organizations or program leadership

 

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

  • Knowledge of non-profit administration, program development, research and the utilization of clinical data, fiscal management and supervision of employees
  • Knowledge of trauma responsive practices and working with individuals exposed to trauma
  • Knowledge of systems related to the provision of mental health services including insurance and legislative systems
  • Knowledge of HIPAA, compliance standards, and accreditation processes 
  • Ability to build relationships and work collaboratively with co-workers, key stakeholders and business partners
  • Demonstrate a high level of professionalism, confidence and ethical standards
  • Demonstrate strong organizational and time management skills
  • Strong problem solving and decision-making skills
  • Must be a self-starter and able to work independently as well as part of a team
  • Support a team culture that welcomes change and leads with a growth mindset
  • Must respect and maintain confidentiality

  • Must be willing to work flexible hours
  • Must submit to a thorough criminal history background check
  • Must have access to a vehicle, possess a valid driver’s license and proof of insurance
  • Position may involve some travel, primarily within the state
