Physician / Pediatrics / New York / Locum or Permanent / MD - Pediatric Epilepsy Job

Top academic hospital in Brooklyn looking for a pediatric neurologist with training in epilepsy to lead and grow a program as a Medical Director. This is an employed position with a competitive salary and standard hospital benefits including malpractice coverage.

Job Function:

• Clinical position involves running a 2 bed EMU and work to build out two more best on the program (1 in the NICU and 1 in the PICU).
• Join a neurology department with 14 full time staff members and 2 full time pediatric neurologists seeking to grow and long term build out a pediatric epilepsy fellowship program of their own.
• Pediatric Department has 2600 admissions to the IP service, 1000 NICU admissions, 8000 deliveries and see over 70,000 outpatient visits a year .
• Department has remote video EEG services for PICU and NICU and goal is to build out 24-hr EEG access to the hospital + emergency room.
• Long term goals to create more epilepsy coverage for sister hospitals, build a fellowship program and eventually hire a neurosurgeon to do surgery cases on the unit.
• Work closely with large pediatric residency program, and secure faculty appointment with strong local medical school.
