ATSS has a client in the Mobile County area looking for a Structural/ Outfitting Designer.
The minimum requirements of the structural designer position are as follows:
3-5 years of 3D modelling / design experience in marine design or a related field or discipline.
Experience using Rhinoceros 3D.
Familiarity with the elements, nomenclature, and general process of aluminum boat construction.
Demonstrate experience in the preparation of shop assembly / production drawings.
The ideal candidate will be adept at accomplishing the following tasks:
Hull surface fairing and lofting, working in collaboration with a naval architect.
3D design and lofting of vessel structures including frames, longitudinals, girders, foundations, decks, superstructures, and related outfitting components such as handrails, deck fittings, arches & masts, etc.
3D integration of vendor furnished equipment models into boat structural design for components like inboard and outboard engines, marine gears, waterjets, generators, etc
Interface with other engineering discipline project leads electrical, mechanical, etc
Liase with shop floor foreman and personnel to troubleshoot and resolve issues encountered in manufacturing.
Be able to schedule and adhere to scheduled work deadlines.
