Body Shop Technician I (Truck Collision Repair) - $3,000 Sign-On Bonus

Penske is hiring an experienced Body Shop Technician I / Collision Repair Technician to perform minor and major truck and trailer body repairs using industry-leading tools, techniques, and diagnostic technology.

- 2nd Shift (after 11 AM): +$3.00/hour

Key Responsibilities As a Body Shop Technician, you will:
- truck and trailer collision repairs Perform , including minor and major damage
- Complete repairs across multiple systems and materials, including:
- Cab and sheet metal repair
- Fiberglass and composite repair
- Welding and fabrication
- Frame straightening and alignment
- Suspension and structural repairs
- Box repair and replacement
- Electrical, brake, cooling, and A/C systems
- Surface preparation, painting, mixing, tinting, and blending
- Diagnose damage and determine required parts and repair methods
- Document warrantable repairs and complete repair orders accurately
- Perform road tests when required
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized workspace
- Work independently with minimal supervision while meeting quality and time standards
- Support additional shop projects as assigned
Qualifications - 6+ years of body shop / collision repair experience (or equivalent combination of education and experience)
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Technical or vocational training in collision repair preferred
- Strong experience in truck and trailer repair and refinishing
- Proficiency with tools of the trade, including:
- Welding equipment
- Paint and refinishing systems
- Shop machinery and power tools
- Valid driver's license required
- Basic computer skills
- Strong attention to detail and quality standards
Compliance & Requirements - Ability to follow all DOT, OSHA, and Penske safety standards
- Maintain required driver qualification file, including:
- Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) checks
- DOT physical (if applicable)
- Drug screening and FMCSA Clearinghouse compliance (if CDL holder)
- Must pass background check and drug screening
- Willingness to travel locally if needed
Work Environment & Physical Requirements - body shop / industrial environment Work in a with varying conditions
- Stand, walk, bend, climb, and work for extended periods
- up to 50 lbs regularly Lift and 100 lbs occasionally
- Work at heights using ladders or elevated platforms
- Safely operate around moving trucks and heavy equipment
- Perform physically demanding tasks including pushing/pulling heavy components
