Job Details
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,810 - $2,011
- Setting: Level III Surgical NICU (10 beds)
- Location: Staten Island, NY 10310 - New York healthcare / NYC area
- Shift: 12-hour day shifts (6:30am - 6:30pm)
- Shifts per Month: 5-6 (PRN coverage in May & June; increased shifts in July & August)
- Schedule: Collaborative scheduling, set one month in advance
- Duration: Coverage needed through December 2026
- Orientation: 1-2 shifts for EMR (Meditech) training
- Weekend Shifts: Yes (typically less busy)
Job Requirements / Qualifications
- Active Physician Assistant license (New York State)
- At least 1 year of experience in a NICU or neonatal setting (Level III experience preferred)
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary neonatal care team
- Willingness to work a flexible, PRN schedule including weekends
- Comfortable with EMR systems (Meditech experience a plus)
Core Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care to neonates in a Level III surgical NICU as a Neonatal Physician Assistant (Neonatal PA)
- Manage micro preemies and other complex neonatal cases (non-cardiac)
- Collaborate with neonatologists, residents, nursing staff, and allied health professionals to deliver high-quality neonatal care
- Participate in daily rounds and communicate clearly with families and the care team
- Document assessments, interventions, and progress accurately in the EMR (Meditech)
- Participate in orientation and ongoing training to support NICU standards and patient safety
