Full-Time APP - Family Medicine Custer, SD1+ years of Clinical and Healthcare ExperienceJob Summary:•Under physician supervision, the Physician Assistant (PA) or Nurse Practitioner (NP) may assume primary responsibility in their specialty according to federal, state, and local regulations.•Responsible for management of selected at-risk or complex patients and aggregate patient populations in collaboration with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare team members.•Demonstrates knowledge, critical thinking, and skills to plan, coordinate, and provide ongoing patient care.Job Description / Essential Functions:•Predominantly inpatient practice; 20% of time in outpatient care.•Acts as an agent of the supervising physician for delegated medical services within scope of practice.•Assess, diagnose, treat, and manage patients' healthcare problems and needs.•Apply clinical interventions, evaluate outcomes, and adjust plan of care as necessary.•Perform admissions, rounding, and/or discharges on inpatients.•Share in practice and/or inpatient call requirements as assigned.•Perform procedures as appropriate (no operating room or first assist required).•May provide nocturnist coverage.•Complete thorough, timely documentation according to facility policy.•Comply with scope of care under federal, state, and local regulations, as well as supervising physician guidance and protocols.•Demonstrate appropriate referral and/or transfer of patients to other facilities.•Maintain current knowledge of disease processes and conduct comprehensive health histories and physicals or problem-focused assessments.•Order appropriate tests, procedures, and therapies in collaboration with medical staff.•Perform ongoing patient assessments and formulate care plans in collaboration with other providers.•Recognize physical, developmental, and psychosocial distress of patients and families and provide appropriate interventions.•Respond appropriately to emergency situations with individualized patient care decisions.•Perform other duties as assigned.Additional Requirements:Required:•South Dakota Certification: CNP (South Dakota Board of Nursing) or PA (South Dakota Board of Medical and Osteopathic Examiners)•Wyoming Certification: CNP (Wyoming State Board of Nursing) or PA (Wyoming Board of Medicine)Preferred:•1+ years of clinical experience•1+ years of healthcare experiencePhysical Requirements:•Light work: exerting up to 20 lbs occasionally, up to 10 lbs frequently, negligible force constantly to move objects.Job Details:•Job Category: Clinical Care•Job Family: Advanced Practice Provider•Department: Primary Care•Scheduled Weekly Hours: 40•Shift: Specify if needed •Employee Type: Regular
